Build!IT 3 is HereBuild!IT is a next generation software for 3D portable metrology. With one interface and one workflow it delivers one solution for managing all of your metrology needs. From measurement, tool-building and inspection, to alignment and reverse engineering, Build!IT delivers complete functionality in one reliable, easy-to-use software package.Improved User ExperienceThe latest version of Build!IT features a completely new user interface. The new interface features dockable windows, toolbars, a message area for command feedback and the ability to have multiple views to the model. Model navigation has also been reworked, making rotations and entity selection more intuitive for large models. But more than just cosmetic improvements, Build!IT 3 streamlines operations as much as possible in order to increase productivity, without removing flexibility. Support for Concurrent DevicesBuild!IT version 3 now supports concurrently-connected devices. Among other possibilities, this allows work with multiple devices in a single file, using multiple devices for measurements or using one device to align another into the job. This new architecture will also make it easier for BuildIT Software to add support for new devices models and device types in the future. Enhanced Measurement DatabaseOne of the major changes under the hood of Build!IT version 3 is the entity database. This translates to a better management of associations between design geometry and measurements, removing the hassle of creating these associations manually and the limitations of name-based associations. The new database uses double-precision (64 bits) floating point fields for improved precision and also adds traceability to the measurements. For every measurement, Build!IT also records the date and time, the environmental conditions, the operator name, the probe radius, the sample number and RMS error, allowing more thorough auditing of inspection results and errors. This information is also available though the object manager, spreadsheet views and reports. Object ManagerThe Object Manager allows browsing and selection of model objects from a tree view. Selection of objects for commands can be done either from the graphical model representation as before or from the Object Manager. The Object Manager allows editing the object properties and managing groups is done in an intuitive manner. Spreadsheet ViewThe Spreadsheet is another representation of the model objects. All objects and their properties are shown in table form, with the possibility of editing them in place or exporting the information to a standard spreadsheet format. Model ImportingImport multiple part models into the main model at once. Use a filter to automatically remove objects from detail models. This allows the use of complete manufacturing models for inspection, automatically trimming the model to keep only the relevant elements for inspection. Build!IT version 3 also adds more robust file translators. All CATIA version 4 files are still imported and exported directly and support of CATIA version 5 files has been expanded to import up to the latest release (R17), including support for importing CATIA V5 functional dimensioning and tolerancing (FD&T) as GD&T features. Inspection AnnotationsBuild!IT version 3 allows the addition of annotations (text boxes with call-outs) to the model. These annotations can contain generic text or the results from an inspection, automatically updated. These annotations are useful for displaying information on screen and will also be visible in all inspection reports. Improved AlignmentsOn top of the recently introduced constrained alignments, allowing incremental locking of the 6 degrees-of-freedom and the improvements to the surface-to-cloud alignment algorithms, Build!IT version 3 features a revised 3-2-1 alignment that allows more than the traditional 3, 2 and 1 points to be taken for the alignment. If additional points are used, then a best-fit algorithm will generate the required geometry and use it for alignment. INORA Fitting AlgorithmsBuild!IT version 3 now integrates the INORAme natural intelligence based math engine for best-fit operations. This method provides enhanced recognition and appropriate handling of unexpected deviations and constraints, reducing the need for filtering and manual culling of the source data. Requires a separate license for the INORAme engine. |
"The ability to load files directly from Build!IT into the CATIA environment means the engineering team can easily retrieve the design data with complete reliability. Likewise, modifications can be communicated quickly back to manufacturing, for maximum engineering efficiency."
